So nennt sich die Gegend, ca. 300 km Nord-östlich von Teheran und sie wurde uns von unserem Freund Arya dringen empfohlen zu besuchen. Das Besondere an dieser wilden Gebirgsgegend, die sich bis auf 2200 Meter Höhe hinzieht, sind die fast immer mit Wolken bedeckten Täler und die Sicht auf diese Wolkendecke. Mir kam sofort in den Sinn, einen Timelapse aufzunehmen und die dadurch entstehenden wellenartigen Bewegungen festzuhalten. Aber da war doch das „fast“, kurz: wir hatten Pech - es gab keine Wolken.

That's what the area, approximately 300 km northeast of Tehran, is called, and it was strongly recommended to us by our friend Arya to visit. The special feature of this rugged mountainous region, stretching up to 2200 meters in height, is the valleys almost always covered with clouds and the view of this blanket of clouds. I immediately thought of capturing a timelapse and documenting the resulting wave-like movements. But there was that "almost," in short: we were unlucky - there were no clouds.

Der nächste Stopp ist Tabriz, mit Teheran die größte Industrie-Metropole in Iran. Viele Jahrhunderte war sie die Hauptstadt des Iran. Teheran hingegen ist gerade einmal zweihundert Jahre alt. Zu alten Handelszeiten war sie mit ein Dreh- und Angelpunkt entlang der Seidenstraße. Der Besuch von Tabriz beschränkte sich bei uns allerdings auf einen kurzen Abstecher in den Bazar, der zudem das Zentrum des iranischen Teppichhandels ist. Mit Unterstützung der Touristeninformation namens Nasser Khan, schlossen wir noch eine Kfz-Versicherung ab: 60 Euro für einen Zeitraum von zwei Monaten.

The next stop is Tabriz, the largest industrial metropolis in Iran, alongside Tehran. For many centuries, Tabriz was the capital of Iran, while Tehran is just around two hundred years old. In ancient trade times, it was a pivotal point along the Silk Road. However, our visit to Tabriz was limited to a brief visit to the bazaar, which is also the center of Iranian carpet trading. With the assistance of the tourist information called Nasser Khan, we also secured vehicle insurance, costing 60 euros for a period of months.
